Janitorial/Sanitation – Job Description
Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the entire facility. As instructed disposes of boxes in dumpster , empties/picks-up trash throughout facility and outside around the plant, sweeps/mops/squeegees floors where and when needed, wipes condensation where and when needed, handles disposal of inedible product on the property, cleans break rooms (sanitize tables, chairs, counter top, and microwaves, etc.), restocks production supplies (hairnets, aprons, sleeves, gloves, etc.), restocks restroom supplies (soap, paper towels, etc.), reports any needed repairs immediately to supervisor (such as leaky faucets or toilets, etc.), gives a written reports of unsafe conditions or unsafe acts to management, assists in achieving these goals by participating in the safety program, performs other tasks as assigned or on Master Sanitation Schedule.
This job is seasonal in Yuma, AZ.

Ability to work indoors in cold, (approximately 34 degrees), wet and very noisy environments.

Ability to stand for up to 8+ hours/shift and be able to bend, kneel, lift, push, pull up to 50 lbs. if needed.

Ability to work outdoors through all temperatures and weather types including wind, rain, dust, and very noisy conditions.

Have familiarity with situations, chemicals, with the ability to read and understand Safety Data Sheets (SDS)

Must be familiar with procedures for cleaning and sanitizing of the following: equipment, facility floors, facility floor drains, bathrooms, offices, employee eating areas, loading ramps, pallet racking system, evaporators, walls, and tubes.

Must be familiar with proper disposal techniques of chemicals and their impact on the environment.

Must adhere to the following policies: Employee Safety, Food Safety and all GMP’s (Good Manufacturing Procedures).

Knowledge of chemical usage, proportions/dilutions and regulations.

Knowledge of sanitation equipment and tools.

Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Willingness to change weekly schedule or work over to help cover other’s absence.

Bilingual English/Spanish preferred but not required.

Will be required to follow the cleaning and sanitizing procedures of the following: equipment, facility floors, facility floor drains, bathrooms, offices, employee eating areas, loading ramps, pallet racking system, evaporators, walls, tubes and any other areas instructed by supervisors.

Will be responsible for restocking and cleaning restrooms (sinks, mirrors, counters, urinals, toilets, wall and floors) as necessary throughout the shift.

Responsibilities:

Clean break areas – (floors, benches, trash, counters, microwaves, refrigerators, etc.) as needed.

Clean and sanitize cold-rooms (floors, walls, drains, curtains, racks, etc.

Clean and sanitize all cooling/icing equipment.
-
Remove trash from different areas inside cold-rooms and all outside areas, then take back to dumpsters.
-
Report to supervisors anytime any issues with cleaning supplies or tools.

Will be responsible for a variety of other miscellaneous tasks as needed throughout the day.
